The Pottsville Rotary Club welcomed local marketing strategist, Joanne Parulis, as the featured speaker at its weekly meeting on Wednesday, February 18, at 12:15 p.m. at Vito’s Coal Fired Pizza and Restaurant in St. Clair. The program, titled “Pottsville Rotary in the Spotlight: PR & Marketing Progress Report,” provided an inside look at the club’s recent marketing and communication initiatives. It also included a preview of the soon to be the launched Pottsville Rotary website created by Joanne Parulis Marketing Communications to strengthen Rotary’s visibility and community connection.
Joanne Parulis, owner and founder of Joanne Parulis Marketing Communications, is an award-winning marketing and communications strategist with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations grow through branding, digital marketing, public relations, and community storytelling. She has led marketing initiatives for regional businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations, and currently volunteers her expertise to support the Pottsville Rotary Club’s public relations and marketing efforts.
During the program, Parulis shared highlights of the club’s expanded marketing strategy, including improved media outreach, a more consistent social media presence, and a weekly newsletter that keeps members and community partners informed. A key focus of the presentation was the unveiling of Pottsville Rotary’s new website – designed to modernize the club’s online presence and make it easier for members, guests, and the community to stay connected.
The new website will feature:
• An updated About section that clearly communicates Rotary’s mission and impact
• A club history timeline that highlights more than a century of service in the Pottsville area
• A streamlined events and meetings calendar with program details and updates
• A news and announcements section to showcase club activities and achievements
• Expanded photo galleries that capture service projects, programs, and community events
• A dedicated membership page that makes it easier for prospective members to learn about joining
The redesigned site provides a central hub where members and the public can quickly find information, explore Rotary’s story, and see how the club is making a difference locally. It also supports membership growth by making the organization easier to discover and engage with online.
“Marketing needs both great strategy and great content to succeed,” said Parulis. “When organizations communicate consistently and tell their stories well, they strengthen awareness, build engagement, and ultimately increase their impact in the community.”
The program served as both a progress update and a preview of future initiatives, including expanded media outreach, continued website enhancements, and new digital tools to help the club reach prospective members and partners.
The Pottsville Rotary Club meets weekly on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. at Vito’s Coal Fired Pizza and Restaurant in Coal Creek Plaza, St. Clair. Individuals interested in attending or learning more about membership are encouraged to contact the club or visit an upcoming meeting.
